Immun’Age UK raise thousands for Charity!
Fund Raiser at Sandbach RUFC for The Royal Marines Charity raises over £8000!
On Saturday 25th August Immun’Age UK organised a fund raiser at Sandbach Rugby Football Club for Rock 2 Recovery alongside the Royal Marines Charity. Rock 2 Recovery specialises in helping both past and present armed forces personnel with mental health injuries. The charity founding Directors are former Special Forces commandos Jamie Sanderson and Jason Fox, the latter being one of the directing staff on Channel 4’s programme “SAS; Who Dares Wins”.
It was a heavy start from mother nature in the morning with lashes of rain but soon the sun shone for the start of the day. The event took the form of a rugby match between a Royal Marines team and a Sandbach Rugby Club team. After lots of diving, scuffles, cuts and bruises the Royal Marines team stormed to victory with a 98-0 win against the RUFC team.
While the game was in full swing Artisan stalls and small businesses stands from within the community will help to provide a fun filled afternoon for families.
The evening dinner dance started at 7:30pm with the introduction of special guest Yuki Hayashi who had flown in from Japan for this event! Yuki is president at the Osato Research Institue whose has been undertaking studies on Immun’ Age with Universities & Research Institutes in the USA and Europe since the late 1990s. It has established a Foundation Research Institute in Switzerland, which in conjunction with the World Foundation Aids Research and Prevention Office in Japan, promotes health awareness to the younger generation.
With this in mind and support from the organisation in Japan, Yuki generously donated £3000 to the R2R charity on the evening. Following further into the evening the organisers of the event; Yvette Hasting & Jayne Sharpe really pulled out all their contacts! With over 50 amazing raffle and auction prizes ranging from a VIP tour of the Aston Martin factory, Afternoon Tea at La Brasserie Grosvenor Hotel, Chester. To Paintballing for 10 & a days clay Pidgeon shooting! These fantastic prizes raised over £4500 towards the charity. A round of applause is in order for their hard work and dedication for pulling this all together!
The event was a huge success and is planning a comeback in 2019! We would like to thank all the local companies for their kind support & donations of prizes. A special thanks goes to Sandbach Rugby Football Club, Symphony Catering, Osato Research, Rock 2 Recovery, Help for Heroes, Immun’Age & the hard working organisers Yvette Hastings & Jayne Sharpe.
