WHAT SIZE DANCEFLOOR DO I NEED?
What Size Dancefloor Do I Need?
A simple size guide for 12×12ft → 24×24ft based on guest numbers, venue layout and how “dancey” your crowd is. Built for weddings, parties and corporate events across Cheshire, the North West & UK-wide.
Quick Rule of Thumb
Most events don’t need a massive floor — they need the right floor. The sweet spot is a size that looks premium in the room, gives guests space to move, and doesn’t feel like a postage stamp once the bangers start.
- 50–70 guests: 12×12ft / 14×14ft
- 80–120 guests: 16×16ft / 18×18ft
- 120–180 guests: 18×18ft / 20×20ft
- 180–250 guests: 20×20ft / 24×24ft
Room Layout Matters (A Lot)
Guest numbers are only half the story. A long, narrow room may need a different size to a square ballroom. If the bar, photobooth, band or DJ are in the same zone, we’ll plan the floor so it flows naturally.
- Ballrooms: Bigger floor looks better and photographs cleaner.
- Barns: Consider pillars, beams and bottlenecks — spacing wins.
- Marquees: You’ll want boarded flooring / a stable base for a perfect finish.
Want The “Wow” Upgrade?
If you’re choosing a size anyway, this is where you can level up. The 3D Infinity Dancefloor creates a mirrored tunnel effect that becomes the focal point of the room — especially for London & high-end corporate installs.

FAQs
What size dancefloor do I need for 80–120 guests?
Typically 16×16ft or 18×18ft depending on layout and how dance-heavy your crowd is.
Do I need a bigger floor if I’m adding a DJ and lighting?
Not always — but we’ll plan the layout so the floor, DJ and lighting all feel balanced in the room.
Can you install a dancefloor in a marquee?
Yes — as long as the surface is flat, dry and level (boarded flooring or a suitable sub-floor system).
