What Size Infinity Dancefloor Do I Need?

The AO Events 3D Infinity is modular — built from 60cm × 60cm panels — so we size it to your venue, room plan and guest energy (square or rectangular), from around 2m up to our huge 8m × 8m.

The goal is simple: a layout that looks premium, fits the room, and actually works for the way your guests move. ✅

How we size the 3D Infinity (modular panels)

Unlike standard dancefloors, the AO Events 3D Infinity Dancefloor is built from 60cm × 60cm modular panels. That means we can create a square or rectangular layout that fits your venue properly — starting from around 2m and scaling up to our massive 8m × 8m.

Panel sizing basics (60cm × 60cm)

Because the floor is modular, we build your layout like a grid. Each panel is 0.6m × 0.6m (60cm × 60cm).

That’s the big advantage: we’re not stuck with “one standard size”. We can create a layout that fits your venue — and we can shape it as a square or a rectangle depending on the room plan.

Get the best layout for your venue

Tell us your venue + date + guest count — we’ll recommend the best layout.

Guest Energy

If your crowd dances hard, we size to support peak moments. If it’s more chilled, we size for focal moments + photos.

Venue Proportions

Long narrow rooms often suit rectangles. Wide rooms often suit squares. The room shape matters more than guest count.

Logistics

Load-in routes, lifts/stairs, set times and cable runs can influence the best practical layout.

Square vs rectangular layouts

The common mistake is thinking “bigger is always better.” In reality, the best layout is the one that complements the room plan.

Square layouts tend to feel symmetrical and work brilliantly in open rooms with a central focal point. Rectangular layouts are perfect when the venue is long/narrow, or when you want the floor to lead toward a DJ/band position or stage.

We’ll recommend the shape once we know your venue, guest numbers, and what moments matter most (entrance, first dance, brand reveal, etc).

The edging (sloped, 15cm, matt black)

Once the panels are fully laid and aligned, we finish the outer perimeter with sloped edging. This edging is 15cm wide and finished in matt black.

It does two important jobs: it gives the floor a clean, premium “framed” look, and it creates a smoother, safer transition onto the dancefloor for guests (especially in heels). It also helps the finished layout look intentional in the room plan — not like a temporary platform dropped in.

If you’re planning the full experience, the edging pairs perfectly with a tidy DJ setup and lighting design. That’s why many bookings bundle the floor with Event DJs and mood lighting.

Room plan: where it sits

Placement matters as much as size. The best setups place the infinity floor where it becomes the visual anchor: visible from entrances, aligned to the DJ/band position, and not blocked by awkward pillars or dead corners.

If you’re bundling music, pairing it with Event DJs makes the timing and flow cleaner — entrances, first dance, and peaks all land properly.

Access, power and install timing

Many installs can run from a standard UK 13A socket. The bigger variable is usually the venue logistics: access routes, lift/stairs, set times, and when the room is available.

A smooth install comes down to confirming: loading access, set times, finish times, and where the floor sits in the room plan. This is exactly why we plan early — it keeps your schedule protected.

What changes the cost

Pricing depends on the overall layout size (more panels), distance, venue access/timings, and whether you want a full production package (DJs, lighting, photo booth).

The fastest way to get a clean quote is to send: date, venue, guest numbers, and wedding vs corporate. We’ll recommend the best layout and price it properly.

Spotlight: we size it to your venue

Because the 3D Infinity is modular, the best-looking floors are the ones designed around the room plan. Give us the venue + guest numbers and we’ll recommend a square or rectangle layout that looks premium and works practically.

What sizes can you build? 📏

Layouts can start from around 2m and scale up to our huge 8m × 8m, depending on venue space and access.

After the panels are laid, we fit a sloped matt black edging around the perimeter. It’s 15cm wide and creates a cleaner finish with a smoother transition onto the floor.
